“I’ve always loved watches. For me it is not only a jewel, but also a safety element. When I go on expedition, the watch is an indispensable tool. I really loved the extreme strength of the ZRC Grands Fonds. And you know that I’m used to mistreating watches! With the GF, I can drop it, hit it against an iceberg, it does not move, no trace on the glass. Its super luminous hands are a reassuring thing. When I’m under an iceberg in the deepest black, the only thing that shines is the watch! It’s really amazing. And it has lots of details that make the difference, such as the diving extension or the crown protection system.

I remember one time when I had completely drowned my previous watch because I had forgotten to screw the crown. With the GF it can not happen. It’s like the easy clean system to prevent corrosion by salt; it makes me feel more comfortable. Underwater, a watch is also a security, it is better if it works! I was also attracted by the historical aspect. A French company of 111 years re-issuing the watch which equipped divers from the Navy and the crew of Cousteau, I was blown away! When I learned about the heritage of this watch, I said “well ok, it rocks! “. I am so proud to be ZRC promoteur.

This desire to be the best, Stéphane Tourreau knows it well. The man keeps on pushing the limits even further, showing self-control and discipline.

In his field of expertise, apnea, he is one with the natural elements, undulating smoothly into the depths. Member of the apnea French Team since 2011, he took part to many championships and got some great results. His intense training in Lake Annecy, physical preparation of high level, allows him to move closer to his objectives. A few more meters, again and again, to push the limits of depth and time always further.

Stéphane is today among the world’s best competitors. AIDA vice world champion by team in 2012, he won the same year, and again in 2014, the “Nice Abyss Contest”.

It his specialty, the constant weight, he will try once again to rank among the best down to over 100m at the AIDA world championships from 11 to 20 September in Chypre, followed by the CMAS World Championships in Ischia, Italy, from 4 to 11 October.

The site

Le Lavandou lies just in the middle of one of the most attractive diving areas of the french Mediterranean: the Port Cros National Park (La Gabinière) with its dramatic drop-offs, and its abundant flora and fauna (barracudas, groopers, sunfish, etc…) is only at 6 nautic miles. The more experienced divers can explore some unforgettable wrecks like the Donator, the Grec, the Togo, the submarine Rubis, the aircrafts Hellcat and Wildcat, among others… Most of these wrecks are rather deep (130 feet / 40 meters and more), and only accessible for divers with a special qualification.

ZRC Grands Fonds 300 Dive test Center

The legendary GF watch, reissued according to the plans of the vintage one from 1964 then approved by the French Navy, has been designed to be the diving instrument of gentlemen divers. Hands and super luminova capsule, crown at 6 o’clock protected by CPS ™, dive extension, unidirectional bezel, salt removal system by clear water circulation (ECS ™). Back in the 60’s, the GF was driven by clearance divers and crew of Jacques Cousteau. Today it has re-acquired its letters of nobility.
